In the heart of the workshop, amidst fine dust and ancient gestures, FRA takes shape. It is not merely a lamp: it is an act of devotion to matter, to simplicity, to light. It all begins with a block of Lecce stone, compact and porous,
quarried from the caves of Salento. A stone that tells centuries of Mediterranean architecture, sculpted by wind and time. Its
warm, golden hue evokes the earth and the sun, while its pliability makes it perfect for the artisan’s hand

Each FRA is shaped by hand, with rasps, files, and patience. The gesture is slow, meditative, almost liturgical. The stone is hollowed, the surface smoothed, the cavity carved to embrace the light. The process is not industrial, but human: every imperfection is a mark, every curve a choice. Like the Franciscan habit, FRA is sober, essential, stripped of superfluous ornament. The name FRA pays homage to the Franciscan friars, to their rough garments, to their spirituality of silence and presence. The lamp echoes their posture: collected, humble, yet capable of radiating discreet intensity. Used for centuries in churches, cloisters, and palaces, Lecce stone is a material that breathes. Its texture tells the stratification of time, while its ability to absorb light makes it alive, ever-changing. In FRA, the stone is not just a base: it is body, it is soul. It is the foundation upon which light rests.
