TIME MATTERS
Mason Editions at Palazzo Litta:
A Reflection on Time and Material
Milan Design Week 2019
PALAZZO LITTA Corso Magenta 24, Milan
From April 9 to 14th
One year after its debut on the contemporary design scene, Mason Editions enters the elegant Studio del Marchese at Palazzo Litta to unveil new pieces and exclusive finishes that enrich some of the most iconic designs from its first collection. Furniture, lighting, and accessories are reinterpreted through a strong material-driven approach, highlighting the brand’s signature versatility, meticulous craftsmanship, and distinctly Italian design language.
Conceived by the brand’s Art Director, Matteo Fiorini, the exhibition features a composition of rigorous, minimalist volumes that deliberately contrast with the Baroque character of the historic interiors, creating a dialogue between materiality and time. Suspended between the memory of traditional craftsmanship and an evolving vision of the present and future, the objects emerge with remarkable sculptural presence.
Among the new introductions is Triplo, a side table designed by Martina Bartoli. The project stems from the idea of breaking down a flat surface into three different heights, creating three functional tabletop levels. Defined by a strong material presence yet an overall sense of lightness, Triplo features three solid wood tops supported by a slender structure made of three steel rods. Versatile, playful, and highly functional, the table is available in three distinctive colour combinations.
The exhibition also introduces new exclusive finishes for Lotus, the table lamp designed by Serena Confalonieri. The new version combines a refined satin copper base with a corolla composed of three white acid-etched glass elements, enhancing the lamp’s elegant, floral-inspired silhouette.
Also on display is Fugit, the vase designed by Matteo Fiorini. Distinguished by its strong architectural identity, it is presented in a sophisticated polished black nickel finish that further emphasizes its sculptural character.
